Become a blockchain validator. Every proposed block may hide a fraud: it is up to you to accept or reject it.

Chain Race

You are a validator. Each round a block is proposed to you: accept it if it is sound, reject it if it cheats.

Educational game: the tokens shown have no real value. In France you must be 18 to open an account on a cryptocurrency exchange — identity checks are mandatory. And prices can fall fast: a cryptocurrency can lose half its value in a few days. Nothing here is advice on what to do with your money.

Objective

Keep the ledger intact: accept sound blocks, reject faulty ones.

How to play

Compare the “previous” field with the latest block in the ledger.
Compare the stated fingerprint with the recomputed one.
Check that lines are not already recorded and that balances are sufficient.
A faulty block you accept corrupts the ledger — and nothing erases it.

Controls

Tap “Accept” or “Reject”. On a fork, choose the block you record.

Reward

Up to 120 XP based on the accuracy of your verdicts (and nothing else).

The four faults to spot

Broken link — the “previous” field does not point to the latest block in the ledger.
Altered line — the stated fingerprint does not match the one recomputed from the lines.
Double spend — a line already recorded in the ledger comes back in the block.
Insufficient balance — a line spends more than the sending account holds.
